Tahiti
Our brief sojourn on Tahiti included one night on Tahiti itself and two nights on the nearby Moorea. Also one of the French Polynesian islands, Moorea is about an hour by boat from Tahiti making it one of the easiest places to get to from the main island. After three weeks sleeping in a cramped Toyota Previa, which was converted to a campervan by replacing the backseats with a cheapo foam mattress, we decided we could afford a night or two of luxury. So we checked into an over-water-bungalow in the Moorea Pearl Resort. The bungalow was situated on the reef surrounding the island and had its own private deck and jetty! We had three days there of pure indulgence lounging by the infinity pool, snorkelling and feeding the hundreds of fish on the coral reef just outside our back door... Heaven!
